B&K does small engine repairs and they may do good work but they have ripped me off. I took in a push lawn mower that had a problem of running for about 10 seconds then stopping. I suspected that the problem was a spring that controlled something in the carburetor and pointed it out to the lady in charge. My wife picked up the lawnmower today and informed me that the bill was $97.97. I was charged for a spark plug, air filters, blade sharpening, and even an oil change! I did not ask for a total maintenance service visit. Those services are usually taken care of by me. I suspect they did this to jack up the total bill with labor costs. What is the most underhanded behavior by this business is that they do not call and tell you what they have found and what work you are going to authorize as has been my experience with honest repair businesses. Stay away or get in writing that they will call you with their estimates.

I took my mower to their shop and I asked for an estimate. We did not have an agreement for them to do any repairs on the mower. However they went ahead and did some repairs without my authorization. I called back and they were flexible enough to lower the estimate. I feel that $60 for straightening the shaft and changing the flywheel safety pin is not cheap but at least it was done in one week.

In the Belton area, B&K Small Engine Repair is my number one choice for service on my lawnmower and chainsaw. Their rates are reasonable, the work is quality, and they are friendly. You receive honest advice and recommendation on either your repair options or what to purchase new. In general, the turnaround time is quick but if they have a backlog, they will tell you upfront. If you experience a problem after service, they are eager to make it right and do so with a smile. My overall experience is very satisfied. There is no hesitation on my part to recommend them to you.

Highly recommended because of their honesty. If you don't need it, they won't try to con you! Excellent service for your small engine repair.
