The Compensation Depot is an independently owned and operated compensation consulting firm dedicated to providing you and your business (for profit and non-profit) with the attention and personal service you will come to expect and enjoy. We are especially interested in helping small to medium size start-ups with the critical task of setting their compensation policies and strategies at the appropriate competitive position to best support their business plans.
The Compensation Depot was recently founded by Jim Johnson (a well known veteran compensation professional
in the Silicon Valley) who has a strong desire to apply his 30+ years of compensation plan design experience (including
approximately 5 years as an independent consultant) to resolve the compensation issues facing your organization.
The Compensation Depot is somewhat unique in that our approach is to TEAM WITH CLIENT STAFF whenever
possible to design, implement and maintain compensation programs. With Jim's breadth and depth of experience,
he has the expertise to do it all himself, however, he believes the greatest return on the client's investment could very likely be the compensation skills acquired by internal staff in working directly with him in developing/maintaining compensation programs, and not necessarily in the value delivered by the compensation programs themselves. This means that a primary objective of each consulting assignment is to develop compensation related skills in internal staff where time permits and support staff exists.
