The Juvenile Community Justice Department, governed by Deschutes County in Oregon, provides opportunities for juvenile offenders to participate in productive activities for competency development. It also offers assistance to crime victims, families and their support systems. The department operates Community Justice Corps, which designs and implements work service projects. The Juvenile Community Justice Department provides a volunteer program that includes therapeutic treatment, socialization, education, recreation, spirituality and vocational opportunities for youths. Its community partners include the Boys & Girls Club of Central Oregon, Cascade Youth and Family Center, and Central Oregon Mediation. The department offers specific supervision, electronic home monitoring, cognitive skills training, educational assessment and employment programs. The Juvenile Community Justice Department also provides the Victim Offender Mediation Program.
