I don't even know where to start. I just moved out of castlewood townhomes last week. I'm 30 years old and i've lived in bout 6 apartments in my life up to this point. Castlewood by far is the worst place i have ever lived. The manager whose name i won't mention (rhymes with Burt) is a backstabbing lying landlord. You won't get your deposit back no matter how clean you leave your apartment. In the past year, i had to throw out hundreds of dollars of food because the refrigerator didn't work properly. I had to sweat in my own living room this summer because they have old units and thermostats. The maintenance guy is an old 65 year old guy who takes weeks and weeks to come rig your things that need replaced. They won't replace anything. I had my refrigerator replaced after 6 months of complaining and all they did was bring me a refrigerator from another apartment that was full of roaches and other bugs. When it's time to move out, the landlord will make up all kinds of things on why you won't be getting a refund of your $400.00 deposit. He will tell you to take him to court if you have any problems. He can't talk to you, he yells every time you have an issue. Drugs! The street is loaded with them, and trafficking. Seen it and smelled it myself. Move at your own risk, but trust me...you can find wayyyy better home..for your hard earned money.

BEWARE!!

Horrible landlord or shall I say "slum lord". Neighbors are great. The landlord Kurt refuses to fix anything that is broken. My neighbors have been out of AC for 3 YEARS. Never move here!!

Every neighbor I've had here i...

Every neighbor I've had here is fantastic! A bunch of great people living here!

But you should hope nothing breaks while you're here. Because you'll have to constantly remind the manager for at least a week. And that's saying you don't start yelling first if it's something important. We have reported several things broken and it takes a long time for them to fix it, if they come at all. So we have resorted to only reporting the important things like front door, air conditioner, heater, water heater, etc. But with these you will likely get a huge long schpeal about how what is broken is actually fine and normal. So if your AC is broken "Well you have cold air blowing through. So the fact that it's 94 degrees inside your house is irrelevant." Or if your heater is broken "You have warm air coming through. So being 45 degrees in here is fine." If you don't have a working water heater ... Well you're kinda out of luck. I've had at least one neighbor go 6 months without one. They also don't professionally spray for bugs. Or spray at all unless you request it. And when you do they use a spray from Walmart that will have bugs coming back not even 5 minutes later.

We loved the space. The rooms are bigger than most places we've rented and there is a lot of storage. But the hassle you go through if anything isn't functioning is a major migraine.

If you're looking for somewhere that you take care of just about every repair imaginable and you want minimal management then this place is for you. If you're like us and rent so you don't have to, then you should probably keep looking elsewhere.
