My son started kindergarten the year NWACA opened. The teachers are dedicated and really care about my child. The school has very high academic standards but because of the dedication of their staff, my son has never had trouble meeting those standards.

Have 3 kids enrolled for past 3 years. If you're interested in an advanced curriculum for your children, without the negative peer pressure one can expect at typical public schools, this is for you.

I currently have two children attending this school. My eldest is in sixth grade and in his third year of attendance. My second child is in third grade and in her second year of attendance. In our time at the school I have always found the staff to be both personal and professional. The curriculum is intentionally challenging and advanced. The classical education model may not be the approach every parent chooses for their child, but it has benefited my children greatly. Consistently high scores on standardized tests, even when compared to other great schools in the region, testify to the excellence of the teachers, educational approach, and administration of this fine school.

This school is located in a large office building across the street from a juvenile detention center. No playground, no library books, no lab equipment. Most classrooms don't even have windows. I simply can not think of anything nice to say about this school and my child spent almost an entire school year there. The staff is very punitive. The front desk staff is rude. I can quote one receptionist as saying "I wish the parents that called weren't so stupid sometimes". She said that to my face, I was just standing there waiting for my child. My child's teacher was allowed to neglect my child educationally. Through discussions with the headmaster, she was never found to be at fault for anything but he didn't even take the time to look into issues, just made his mind up on the spot. He determined that my 7 year old was manipulating the situation and that I did not discipline him. How he came to this conclusion I don't know because he never asked about our home life. I think it was just easier for him blame the kid. By the way, the teacher's response to the question "Why haven't you worked one on one with my child?" "Because child would have just said 'I don't know' if I had tried." She said this to me in front of the headmaster and he didn't make a single comment about it. It was so bad, I pulled my kid out with only 19 days left to go. My child's new teacher at his new school tested him and determined that he was very capable of doing work several grade levels above his own. She even said she could see areas where the past teacher had not done her job. I'm begging you to stay away. I wish I could name names. I wish I could leave my info as I would gladly talk more in depth to anyone wishing to further research this school or validate my claims. I wouldn't even rate 1 star if I didn't have to.
