The Center for Labor Research and Education, also known as Labor Center, is a public service and outreach program of the UC Berkeley Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and an affiliate of the UC Miguel Contreras Labor Program. Founded in 1964, the Labor Center conducts research and education on various issues, including related to job quality, workforce development and employment. It offers leadership training sessions to educate future labor leaders. The center works with unions, government agencies and employers to develop innovative policy perspectives and programs. It also offers work force-related informational resources for students, scholars, policymakers and the public. The Center for Labor Research and Education is located in Berkeley, Calif.
