if you want to avoid the drama and possible bad karma that is Craigs list (possibly stollen bike) this is the place to go. The service of a bike shop but used bike prices. Other shops in Nor Cal to consider for this are Pioneer, the Recyclery (Trips for Kids Bike Thrift store in Marin County).



Yes, this is not fancy, we're not talking custom ti here, but you are buying a used bike at this point so their profit margin is tight.

The owner "consults" with you as if he's got 3 pots on the stove overboiling. He's quite rude and not helpful.
