Great food, great atmosphere, great prices

East serves the best sushi of any restaurant in the area. They recently updated their menus and added more selections (at least it looks like there's more there), plus there's now pictures showing what many of the items are. Service can be slow when they're busy (and the place does pack at night), but we tend to go early in the evening before the main crowd arrives and have always received timely service. Occassionally you'll get servers that aren't as efficient, but the same could be said anywhere else and I've had no issues worth complaining about (and we eat there alot).

Although it's BYOB, the servers are pretty good at making sure your glasses stay full. They've even brought out ice buckets to help keep our wine or beer bottles cold during the meal.

A bonus is the 1/2-price sushi when dining there weekdays at lunch and certain week nights. Same size pieces but at half the cost, which is great because that food can really add up when there's several of you eating together.

Their take out and delivery service is also great. We tend to utilize their delivery service more often than dining in and they've never messed up an order. And they keep your address on file so all I need to do is give them my home phone number and they know exactly where to go.

Great sushi, sloooow service

East is an asian fusion restaurant. I've had a number of the different items on the menu and they've all been

good. The sushi rolls are usually well prepared. When the sweet potato roll is done properly its wonderful; but

on several occasions the sweet potato was undercooked-raw in the center.

The service used to be attentive; but my last few visits have left me inspired to complain.

Servers just standing around, service is slow even when there aren't many people in the

restaurant and 4 servers are huddled together by the coat room. They don't appear to work together

and you'll wait 20 minutes even if all you've ordered is sashimi.

And, if you call ahead for pick up, expect it to take 30 - 40 minutes, not the 15 - 20, even if

you order from the lunch menu. My last pick up, I called ahead and still waited 20 minutes

in a half-full restaurant.

I used to love East; but now I am looking around for a new place for my sushi fix.
