Provided by YP.comThis bakery used to be very good. Now it sucks.
I bought some Italian almond cookies. They had barely any flavor.
By contrast Marianas Bakery in Meriden and mozzicato's in plainville ct have excellent cookies.
We also bought a birthday cake recently, knowing Sanremo's cakes were good. Nope. The birthday cake sucked big time.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from Sanremo. They look like they are about to go out of business.

Provided by YP.comWe ordered catering for a wedding from here. We had gone into the shop one day and liked the quality of the pastries and breads. The young man we ordered from, John, had written down everything we ordered and he assured us that our order was not a problem to complete. We had ordered a few dishes with alterations due to the bride's severe food allergies. We had also supplied him with a photograph of the cake we wanted. We left, and spoke a few times over email and everything was so far going well.
First off, the day of the wedding he was late arriving to our reception.
Most of our order was incorrect. The requested altered dishes were not prepared to our specifications and the bride could not eat them. The other food was over seasoned and almost inedible.
Most importantly, the cake. It was supposed to be a pale blue color, with white pearls around the bases of the tiers, three small seashells at the top, and large enough to feed 65 guests. The cake we received was lime green with food coloring pooling in places, no pearls, dirty looking seashells down the sides, and it was not large enough to feed all our guests.
We will not be using this caterer again.

Provided by YP.comIf you wish to be insulted, then maybe Sanremo Bakery is the place to go: the son of the owner and some of the staff are rude. We had called Sanremo Bakery to reserve a loaf of Sicilian. When we arrived an hour later, a staff person informed me that we had never done so, and that they were out of Sicilian bread. Often the bakery is out of the French or Sicilian bread, if not both, as well as the pastries that you want. The mother and father provide very good service, and so perhaps it's a generational thing. But I am tired of calling the bakery to see if it has the staple items it should stock. When I was insulted today by not only their failure to reserve my order but with the staff implying that we had never reserved the particular item, and with no apology given, I've decided to find another bakery.
