The Sandoval County Sheriff s Office provides law enforcement services to the residents of Sandoval County, N.M. It deters criminal activities, arrests criminal offenders, promotes traffic safety and responds to emergency calls. The office also serves legal documents issued by district and magistrate courts and is responsible for transporting prisoners. In addition, the Sandoval County Sheriff s Office is responsible for extradition of prisoners arrested in other states on warrants from courts in Sandoval County. It maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, first aid, patrol procedures and investigations. Located in Bernalillo, N.M., the Sandoval County Sheriff s Office has a criminal bureau of investigations that investigates various felonious crimes.
