I have been leaving our two collies, Pip and Calliope with Steve and Becky for about 8 years. We travel a lot and it is with full peace of mind that we leave our dogs with them.

They give them whatever meds they are on and take them to the vet when we are away and they need medical attention, a check up or shots.

No request is ever too much, nor is there any extra charge. I can't imagine a better situation for a dog. The kennels are spacious and the dogs have access to a nice run all day and are let out into a larger grassed area as well. It is 100% clear that Steve and Becky see their charges as family pets.

On occasion, I have found our elder (14 years) in the house if she has been left alone (without her younger housemate). These people really care and are quite knowledgeable about canine needs. Calliope would not be with us any more if it weren't for Steve's observations and recommendation that we take her to his vet, rather than our vet in Chicago.

We have kept our shih tzu with Becky and Steve at Paws and Claws for 7 years....they are wonderful to us and to our pet. Our furry family member is not traumatized when we pick him up so and so we know that he is very well taken care of. If we bring meds we know that he will be administered as directed. They have a special area in their office for smaller pets so they aren't in the back with the "big dogs".

Paws N Claws Kennel

Paws N Claws provides a safe , caring enviroment for your dog or cat . My dogs are not interested in applying for Harvard .

They are happy to have heat, food, fresh water and an out door run. Becky and Steve Curley live right on the property next to the kennel house. Steve always helps get my older arthritic dog out of the car. My main concern with boarding is that my dogs are there and alive and well when I get back. I once saw a lost dog ad for a dog named Abby in Chicago , this dog was boarded in the city and the boarding place transported the dogs to a suburb facility and the dog somehow got away from them. Another time a girl in Evanston was looking for her German Shepherd who somehow got out of a boarding facility. I once boarded my old black lab Jesse in upstate New York around Middleburg. The ad said Jesse would be kept in the house with the family but that I should call way in advance , when I arrived Jesse seemed traumatized .

I looked out and saw poodles sticking their heads out of some old barn ,this was in the middle of winter. It strongly indicated that they told boarders their dogs would be kept in the house but then put them in the barn. So after my experience and that of others I am wary of who cares for my pets. With Paws N Claws, I know my dogs will be there when I get back and that Becky and Steve have met their basic needs plus given them affection. Did I add all this peace of mind is provided at extremely fair prices!
