The Berthoud Fire Protection District is responsible for providing fire protection, emergency medical services, public fire education and prevention duties for an area of 98 square miles within Larimer, Boulder and Weld counties in Colorado. It offers a variety of programs, such as bicycle safety and care seat inspection programs. Additionally, the district offers a smoke detector program that includes providing free smoke detectors to Berthoud residents. It also offers a volunteer firefighter program that includes responding to calls for emergency medical services and providing education to members of the community regarding motor vehicle extrication and driving and emergency vehicle operations.
