Was in big trouble as my wife and I were using Shop Vacs to get rid water that was rapidly filling basement after recent heavy rainfalls! First call we made was to Mr. Gombos after hours of getting nowhere with vacuuming. He recommended checking the footer drain for a clog. I did this and found severe clog which I cleared.....Immediately saw water gushing from footer drain and soon after the water stopped entering the basement !...Mr. Gombos could have easily come to house, written an estimate for unnecessary work and charged us big $$$. Instead, he offered us sound, honest advice by phone that worked...If we ever have to have to any waterproofing done to our basement in the future, he will be the ONLY business we will call ! There are still honest businesses out there and A Gombos Basement Waterproofing is one of them...

Steve is the most knowledgeable waterproofer in the business. He came out, diagnosed the problem and gave me a detailed description of what would needed to be done to fix the issue. We had others come out and they were at least double the price of what Steve did the work for. Whenever we had rain or melting snow, we would get a good amount of water in the basement. After Steve did the work, we haven't had basement issues at all. Go with Steve and you won't be disappointed.

If you have water concerns in your basement, then contact Steve. He will be able to give you an accurate assessment and fair price to fix the problem. We had water entering our basement via the bottom of our basement door. Steve found the route of our problem (He created retaining falls so the water does not drain into our basement.) Another business recommended a sump pump that was not needed and quoted a hefty price. I recommend Steve without any reservation! He is honest and not looking to sell you something you do not need!!

I highly recommend Steve and his work. He is honest and knows what he's doing. My pump wasn't working and it turned out to be rust build up that he just had to scrape off. He could've told me the entire pump needed to be replaced!

Steve Gombos waterproofed my basement several years ago. I initially had several bids (one of which recommended 2 sump pumps - all of the other bidders wanted to put a drain around the entire basement.)



Only Gombos recommended a gravity drain and the interior drainage in only half of the basement. The basement has been perfectly dry until a month or so ago, when some water came in through the Bilco door. I called Gombo, who came out the same day and put in additional drainage for no additional cost. The graity drain works perfectly - no worries about a power of pump failure.



He also did my parents basement about forty years ago, and they have never had water in their basement since.

I am writing to highly recommend Steve Gombos who has been servicing our basement waterproofing needs for approximately 35 years. The system he installed in the early 1970s has withstood the test of time. On the few occasions he has had to return for service (all pump related), Steve has totally satisfied our needs. Most recently, on Sunday morning February 3, we discovered water in our basement, called Steve, he arrived within the hour, determined it was a pump problem (it wasn't even his pump), left to get new pump, back in an hour, installed new pump and then did some surveying work to determine feasibility of gravity drainage system to eliminate the need of a pump. All of this was accomplished by noon same day. That's what I call exemplary service!!!! I would recommend him to anyone.
