Far and away the very best nursery we've found in the Metropolitan area of NY. We are serious but home style plodding along in our too small Yankee clay soil patch of Americana. We have frequented all of the good, the bad and the ugly garden centers in Westchester, Fairfield, Litchfield counties and up further North and West. White Flower Farm in Litchfield is an old standby if nothing else because she's the grande dame of gardening. But if you want the real deal with an enormous selection plants, shrubs, trees etc. then this it, Hollandia. They have a love for their business and one store on Rt 6 is very good but the action is on Old Hawleyville Rd.



We judge our experiences in this arena by how we feel when we leave- with Hollandia we want to get deep in dirt regardless of time of day, season, weather. This is one of those businesses you constantly favor-a certain restaraunt, supermarket, movie theater etc. Here it is-others are good-but for some of the othersif you come away from a garden center annoyed that place may not be there tomorrow-but Hollandia is helpful-a problem? Just ask-its big but run like a machine and over 20 years we've had nothing but the best service.
