Center for Adult Literacy is a part of Northampton Community College, and is located in Bethlehem, Pa. It offers its services in Northampton, Monroe, Pike and Wayne Counties in Pennsylvania. It provides education to adults, and assists in employment and advancement at work. Center for Adult Literacy offers classes free of charge to qualifying adults in various subjects, such as English as a second language, adult basic education, general educational development preparation, family literacy and basic work force development. It also provides programs in tutor training, professional development for adult educators, contracted workplace literacy, basic skills, workplace testing and organizational structure. Center for Adult Literacy serves more than 3,800 adults each year. Its literacy programs include basic and numeracy skills, workplace, information, health, computer, financial and critical. Center for Adult Literacy is funded primarily through state and federal grants.
