Dr. Mehryar Taban has an amazing ability to see what in needed to be fixed and how to fix it. I had one failed eyelid surgery and was sent to Dr Taban. He gave me all the options and was able to fix the eyelid that had failed but also at the same time fix the other eyelid so I wouldn't continue to drooping eyelids. The surgery went well and my eyes have completely healed. I am very thankful for Dr Taban and his great skill and caring. I would highly recommend Dr Taban for any kind of eye surgery. Thank you Dr Taban for your care of me.

My roommate and I were passeng...

My roommate and I were passengers in a car a few years ago when it was involved in a head-on collision during a snow storm. In the immediate aftermath, everyone was too concerned with having survived the accident to realize that my roommate had actually shattered his eye socket and cheek bone. Ironically, he was sitting in the backseat behind the driver but the lap belt from the mid-80s model Chrysler New Yorker didn't hold back his upper body from swinging forward violently into the driver's seat cushion. The cushion was good enough to absorb the blow from his face. When we saw what his face looked like, it was scary to say the least.

After a few months of recovery and some cosmetic work around his eye, he began to heal up and look much more normal in the face again. Unfortunately, he ended up with a droopy eyelid. Apparently, it's a medical condition known as ptosis, and it makes you look as though you're always drowsy and tired.

I had heard about eyelid surgery that could correct ptosis, and found an oculoplastic surgeon named Dr. Taban online. Since he was highly credentialed, my roommate went for a consultation and decided to get eyelid surgery. The surgery was minimally invasive and my roommate healed up in a few weeks. He looks great now. You'd never know he was in the accident now, which is awesome.

According to my roommate, Dr. Taban was the best eyelid surgeon he could have had and his staff treated him very well. I drove him to and from his surgery and everything was handled very well and professionally. I would definitely recommend Dr. Taban to anyone who needs cosmetic surgery to fix droopy eyelids.

My experience at Dr Tabans p...

My experience at Dr Tabans practice was simply wonderful. Before I tell my experience I just to say in short Dr Taban has got to be the best eyelid surgeon out there. I had whats called am eyelid retraction surgery. For my whole life I have had droopiness of my lower eyelids. [ I didn't realize this until recently but] I had slightly blurred vision, dry eyes, and as bad as those are, physically the way my lower eyelids looked in my opinion was horrible as well. I'm not a model or anything but in my line of work I am "seen" a lot and often on camera. Obviously there are plenty of things I can do and have done to help look professional and attractive to some extent, working out, having good hygiene, dressing nice. I worked on this for many years as I was getting older and progressing in my career. Then I eventually realized there were things about myself I wanted to change that I could not do myself. Until recently I had never even heard of an Oculoplastic Surgeon... I had always searched a bit online about my eyes when I had problems or irritation but never looked twice when coming across word like eyelid retraction surgery, or just anything Surgery! At a point in my life where I was ready to enhance my physical appearance combined with a lifetime of eye issues, I eventually found some wonderful information on Dr Taban and his Eyelid Retraction Surgeries. Many people [online] said he was the best eyelid surgeon around so after about two months of thinking about it I decided to go see Dr Taban. Anyway, I get a little carried away when I tell my backstory but anyway jump to now I had my surgery early this year and I COULD NOT be more HAPPY. I just came from a family reunion and as families do we all caught up. Of all the things in the recent years of my life since I have seen my extended family, I was surprised to find myself not talking about women or work, but my eyes! Retelling the story over and over reminded me how thankful I am for my eyelid retraction surgery from Dr Taban. I'm so used to it now and my results look and feel natural, but when I look back to photos and think about my vision how often I used to get dry eyes, red eyes I can;t believe I even dealt with that. NOBODY should have to deal with that in 2012 with people like Dr Taban around. Eliminating my eye problems and changing my appearance are great, but the extra little bit of confidence I have in myself now is really the best thing. No more running out to the car on dates to grab some eye drops, no more squinting in the mirror to see what I would look like with normal lower eyelids.. And as far as the eyelid surgery itself everything as far as I could tell was seamless. Everything went as Dr Taban described and I really had no hassles. If you have the same problem as me, go see Dr Taban! He is a lifesaver! It is more than worth it as I said he's got to be the best Oculoplastic Surgeon around. Thanks again!

Rude, incompetent, inappropriate

Dr. Taban is easily the worst physician I have ever visited. I am a physician myself and am appalled with my entire experience with him.
1. He saw me 3 hours late.
2. he was rude, rushed, did not answer any questions and told me to "read about my condition"
3. he did not even offer a treatment plan and told me to "look it up myself.
4. he told me it may be serious and i should "get it checked out". and then requested me to pay $150 because he was nervous my HMO would not reimburse him.

Won't be back

Dr. Taban was cold, unfriendly, and dismissive. After making me wait more than an hour, he refused to a 10-minute surgery, saying that he had to "go to a meeting." My impression was that he wanted to bill for an extra hour.
