I have tried a bunch of different barber shops from Beverly to Peabody, independents and chains over the past couple years after my regular barber moved away. I happened upon Montserrat Barber Shop and can say truthfully that this shop is excellent. I get a flat-top style cut and this place is the best at it. The staff are experienced and friendly. Great family atmosphere. Also the shop is very conveniently located on Essex Street in the middle of a nice shopping plaza, so no worries about parking and it's a 1 minute walk from the Montserrat train station. I highly reccomend Montserrat Barber Shop.

Marlene gives me a better haircut than I used to get on Newbury Street in Back Bay. I would go here even if it cost five times as much (which is what I paid in town.)

Montserrat Barber Shop is a great place to get a haircut. It is very kid friendly, well priced and perfectly located right near the train station. Marlene and the rest of the crew are fun, friendly and great at cutting hair. I highly recommend them!!

So close to my house. I get off the train around 6 pm and still have plenty of time for a hair cut. Open on Monday is great. Clean, friendly, great hair cut!
