Your screwed if you need a refund!!! Generally I liked the cabins...they were well worn and of older style and quality...I expected that. It started off well, even tho booking thru Expedia, there is a price difference per night for a pet, and my pet approved cabin with yard didn't have a door that secured...but after a few phone calls, they fixed it. The real problem is now, some months later when they have yet after phone calls from me and un returned phone calls from them..refunded my $100.00 deposit. I had planned on a return visit this fall....Stayed in June...got assurance in July for refund...it is now September with NO ACTION or RETURN. October will be another Big Bear visit...at a new location.

Stayed there August with a large group. Not well maintained at all webbing on ceiling, dirt grime, while there they caught four mice in our cabin, I didn't want to sit on furniture dirty. This place need a good cleaning up/down update the furniture. I saw one washer & dryer for all to use. I won't come back not worth it

We just returned from our 4 day stay at Golden Bear Cottages. We had a great time. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect size and had almost everything you could think of stocked in the kitchen....from pots, pans, spatulas, baking pans, coffee pot, flatware, dishware, I can go on and on! Our cabin(#16 Koala Bear)was clean and decorated in rustic mountain furnishings just like we had hoped. We would definitely stay at Golden Bear Cottages in the future. Thanks! Golden Bear Cottages resort is the only mountain retreat we have ever liked well enough to return to, and we do return a couple of times every year. The owners always treat us special. The grounds are always being improved, and the historic cabins are tastefully furnished. The houskeeping staff is so friendly and they keep the cabins very clean and tidy. You will not be disappointed with the superb service and family atmosphere. We really like the clean large family-sized historic cottages. It's really great that you can find Golden Bear Cottages on the internet on the only spanish language site we could find for hotels in Big Bear at www.BigBearHoteles.com
