Provided by YP.comWe came to Big Spring to visit our family and friends after having been away for several years. Spent two nights at the hotel. I was going to write a nice review of how good the cleaning staff was nice and how the breakfast lady cooks your eggs to order and how she let me and my mother and father in-law sit there and have coffee while we chatted. But Prya Patel, the general manager, ruined any chances of that with her completely rude and tacky behavior. We needed to stay another night so my husband goes up to the front desk to pay for another night, When the "manager" begins accusing him as if he was some type of criminal. Saying "we were watching you". Really???? Watching us, as if we were doing anything wrong. First offense, was that we didn't "verbally" tell the desk girl that we had a dog, when she saw we came with a dog. (What we just grabbed a stray dog off the street put a leash on it and started walking it around? I don't think so.) We were in no way trying to hide that we had a dog. So she proceeded to "fine" us $100 rather than the $10 a day dog fee all because we didn't "verbally" "outloud" tell the girl we had a dog. Next she proceeds to accuse us of having "extra" people at breakfast. My inlaws came in for coffee!! On the second morning my father in law had a bowl of cereal, it cost him $50, because they GM - Prya Patel considered that to be the most heinous crime and boy did he pay. Next, she accused us of having too many people in our room. We have never stayed at a hotel where kids were not welcome and that were not allowed to stay in the room for free. Motel 6, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Whitten Inn, all in Big Spring have this policy and all the Residence Inns and Fairfield Inns we have stayed in have this policy. Children under 18 years of age!!!!!! And lastly, she blatantly lied on our reciept. She put that we had 3 adults and 4 children, when that was not the truth, just so she could once again steal money from my father in law by charging him an "extra" person fee. We have actually stayed at the hotel before and had such a pleasant stay and my inlaws had recently had my sister in law and her children stay there. Coming up for coffee and chatting with them the same way they did with us with no incident. Apparently Prya Patel decided she wanted to lose all the respect and any future income all in one day. We won't be staying there again and I know my father in law, very well respected man in the community will never have anyone stay there again or give them a good reference ever again. This incident ruined the morning for us. Never in our lives have we been treated so distastefully. We grew up in a world and still work according to the retail golden rule, 'the customer is always right' and if they are wrong, see rule #1. This situation could have been handled in such a different manner. I will post my review on my facebook page and several Big Spring facebook pages. Between my husband, myself and my inlaws know lots of people in Big Spring, Howard County and the surrounding area. Distasteful. Rude. Terrible stay. Take your money elsewhere. Any other hotel in Big Spring will treat you kindly. Prya don't bother trying to make a case for yourself by responding to my review. You were completely out of line.
