Wilderness Lodge
51760 Becker Rd, Bigfork, MN 56628
The Wilderness Lodge is located deep in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, nestled in the pines along the shore of beautiful Turtle Lake. Lost in time, this grand log estate once served as a booming resort for fishermen, hunters, and families from across the United States and Canada. Today, Wilderness Lodge is a secluded Northwoods Resort where guests can unplug from the world and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life as they relax in the rustic elegance of our log cabins. The cabins have all been restored, and each one is unique and offers a glimpse of its former life. The Lodge is one of the last remaining full log structures of its kind in the area. From its humble beginnings as a trapper's cabin built in the late 1800s, the original resort owners first planned to live in the cabin and operate a silver fox farm on the property. However, family and friends quickly fell in love with the beautiful lake and magnificent scenery, so their vision soon changed to wanting to share this paradise with others. This was the beginning of the amazing transformation from a simple trapper's cabin into a family resort with historic log lodge and guest cabins. The previous owners, Sue and Jozsef, lovingly restored the property to its former state of elegance. Step into the Lodge and you will be taken back in time to the era of the great timber barons with the rich leather furniture, granite fireplaces, beautiful antiques, pool table, and the incredible collection of trophy mounts. The entire estate is now available to rent for an ultimate family get-away. The Wilderness Lodge also partners for weddings with the Wilderness Wedding Barn. We invite you to come for a visit and experience the majestic beauty and peaceful solitude of God's unspoiled paradise. Your visit will leave you feeling physically and spiritually refreshed and rejuvenated. The Wilderness Lodge is located deep in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, nestled in the pines along the shore of beautiful Turtle Lake.
