i had witnessed a lot here as a caregiver/cook/server. they get treated bad and when ever new people come along we get treated good till they move in then its back to working on a slave ship! I heard all the staff members bad mouth the residents in the kitchen, its like gossip central in there.Brandon is the best but has a big head working in the kitchen.the night cook Robert don't know how to cook and needs to stop acting like the boss and Ira the other cook needs to come out of the kitchen more and interact with the residents and stop trying to argue with everyone that tries to ask a question.Katy is the most helpful down to earth person there,i hope they don't lose her because Bonaventure is all about there money not the residents or employees.Julie brown is the most useless manager in the world. I think that you should hold a degree to have the positions.she needs to step down or get more training at what she does. this place only give you a day or so of training and just throw you in a tank full of sharks. I am still employed there but am in the process of looking for a better job cause how they treat us all.the man one is the evil witch of the west "Brenda",she is the worst on that from home office that come here and steps all over the employees.to sum this all up do some research before you bring your love ones here. i heard some of my co-workers talking about this web site so i had to check my self and everything that is going on in this facility is happening in all the Bonaventure. here is a web site where you can read more about whats going on throughout the company so i will let it speak for itself.www.ripoffreport.com/Search/bonaventure.aspx

How long has the Executive Director been there

I have had my mother there for two years and I must say they are one messed up company. They promised us the world when we moved in but they change managers and marketers every few months so they don't have to honor their promises. The home office are nasty people that work the staff all teh time and then fire them. I have seen 6 executive directors come and go and it is the some office. I am looking to move my mother right now but she does not want change and she likes the new manager Katey. Katey does an amazing job and puts the residents first but in this place it's the kiss of death. I expect her to be fired soon for making my Mom the priority. People to ask about are Katey, Amber and Brandon. My Mom said they are the life of the building. If you go there and see the building see if they are still there. If not well then they go rid of good people again. Derry was an amazing worker and they fired him.

Too Bad

Long on promisses. Short on delivery. Very poorly managed. A Harvard MBA could not sift through their billing statements, which appear to be predatory. Enter at your own risk, which is extreme. All existing residents are working toward an exit stratagy, to say the least, as is staff.

Respect/Honesty/laughter/smiles

Just have to agree with other reviews !So sad for the residents that pay good money to live there.Management may have changed but residents still very unhappy.Retirement /Eldery people deserve respect /honesty and a healthy place to live with smiles and laughter ! Retiremnet people need to really investagate before moving into retirement homes or family members to protect their loved ones ! Empolyees also treated poorley from management .Problems /concerns about residents health not taken seriously .

Rude

I think Bonaventure is a very nice and beautiful faciltiy, but they could use new staff!!! I was working with Rita, and made about 7 phone calls and left messages every time, it has been a few months now, and she never did return even one of those phone calls. I am sure she is busy, but come on, a quick phone call does not require much time or energy. Like I said, the place itself is very beautiful, but how I got treated by Rita, I would never recommend my grandparents to live there if that's how the staff treats people! It was ridiculous!
