Best value gym :)

Having relocated from the NYC area to Binghamton for nursing school, I was shocked (and super happy!) to find such a great gym for such a great price. I assumed the nicer gyms would run $100/month like back home, but my student membership was only around $30/month at Court Jester! I love/need group classes when I choose gyms and CJ has hands down the best trainer/teacher in the area and honestly the best I've worked with probably ever (anywhere). Tori's classes alone are worth the cost of gym membership (but seriously, taking just one of her classes back home would easily cost 2 month's worth of CJ membership!). I also like that they recently opened a second gym in Binghamton - so depending on where I'm at on a given day I can use either location :) It's nice too because the Binghamton gym is brand new and has a very open modern feel (kind of like Planet Fitness but less purple and yellow blinding lol). It also seems like where more of the younger professionals and college students are working out. The original JC location is where the majority of the classes happen (although Jen is an incredible kickboxing instructor who teaches a lot at the Binghamton branch) and they also have an indoor track upstairs! Tanning is available too there if that's something you're interested in (I'm a nurse lol so it's not for me - but the salt water fish tank is cute and the faux beach scene set up is nice to look at haha). Racquetball courts are also at the JC location and they have physical therapy offices and a nursery on site too! I also don't know much about free weights, but my guy friends say they love it here over Planet Fitness because there are more machines and heavier free weights. Oh and there's a swimming pool! Yes, the original JC location is kind of dated - I think it was built in the 70s or very early 80s - but I don't know, it hasn't bothered me too much. I can't imagine it's easy for a family to run a gym (or any business for that matter) right now in Binghamton with this kind of economy. I'm pretty impressed actually that they were able to open a second location. Lol I didn't mean for this review to go on for so long. Anyway, I've had nothing but GREAT experiences here and, as an out-of-towner, felt like it was worth letting others know about :) (I wish someone had told me when I moved up here so I didn't waste a whole year at Planet Fitness! Not to rip on Planet Fitness or anything, I was just REALLY mad when I found out that I could have been working out at Court Jester all that time for $20 more and getting A LOT more for my money...). Being conveniently located next to a Dunkin Donuts isn't too shabby either! I need that post workout cup of coffee ;) One last thing I didn't find out about until recently... They offer free one week trial memberships! So you don't even have to trust anything I write lol you can go find out for yourself! Hope this review helps some people out :) I think this place is really great and it seems like they are always making an effort to do what they can to keep things nice and up to date for their customers - which is I guess why I felt compelled to write them a review :) Hope you love it as much as I do!!
