Birchwood Public Schools is a school district providing various educational and extracurricular programs to more than 360 students in grades prekindergarten through 12. It serves Washburn County, Wis., and comprises three schools, elementary, middle and high schools. The school district uses Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations to evaluate students in reading, social studies and mathematics. The curriculum includes all basic subjects, such as English, foreign languages, mathematics, science, social studies, arts and crafts, music, and physical education. The high school additionally provides college preparatory programs. The schools have fully equipped libraries, computer rooms and gymnasiums. The district offers various sport programs and extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society, academic recognition, drama club, student council and newspaper. The district is located in Birchwood, Wis.
