My family has been taking our cars to Edgewood Service Center for over twenty years. They are always up front about what they find, their estimates, and how long the work will take. If I need something they can't provide, they have always been very helpful about steering me in the right direction. I trust them completely.

I had a new transmission put in several months ago. Everything is going great! I was laughing at some of the negative comments below (Can't please everyone ... especially in the automotive business) ... Sometimes people think they're getting ripped off, when they just do not understand the situation/circumstance. I love that C.P. came on yp.com to address the negative comments. He basically turned them into a positive once the story was straightened out. I'm a small business owner myself and I'm impressed with how C.P. runs his business. Great customer service and Great Work!

I took my car in for squeky brakes and an oil change. They ended up discovering that I had an animal nest in my engine and they ended up cleaning everything up and they even advised me on filing this claim on my car insurance and it ended up paying for all the repairs needed. I appreciate their honesty and thorough work. Their prices were very competitive and I would recommend them to anyone in the birmingham area to check with them before using anyone else.

As owner of Edgewood Service Center for the last 38 years, I would like to reply to the negative comments that has been posted on yp.com that I was not aware of until recently. To respond to rmroan, the flat tire we repaired by replacing the valve steam was on the right rear. We checked the balance in both front tires and they were both slightly out of round. We balanced both front tires. If Mr. Roan would have called us and let us know he was still having problems with the right rear tire that we replace the valve steam on, we would have been more than happy to fix it. Mr. Roan did come in to let us know what the other repair shop had found and at first accused us of putting fix-a-flat in his tire, when in fact his son had put fix-a-flat in after we repaired the valve steam. The charges were for replacing the valve steam and balancing the tire and putting it back on the car and securing the spare tire back in the trunk, and balancing the front 2 tires that were out of round. Our labor rate is $78.95 hour, so he was charged 1 hour of labor and a valve steam plus tax and shop fees.f

I just picked up my car from here and I was so tickled because they saved me about 200.00 on the work. They have always been so honest with me. They give quick and friendly service. I have been going for about 5 years and could not take it anywhere eles. Highly recomend them.

Yesterday I had a flat tire. I changed the wheel and went today to the Edgewood Service Center to get my tire plugged. I thought I would give and support a local business. The folks were very nice, but I didn't follow my rules: 1- do my research. 2- ask for price. Anyway, in short they charged me $30 bucks!!!! To plug a tire!!!! Needless to say I will NEVER go back to them ever, because if they can rip people off like that just for a simple job like that, I can imagine how MUCH they can rip you off on an engine work! I would avoid them like pest.

My daughter recently had her car taken to this shop for repair. She needed a new battery. The work was done correctly and timely. However, the price was out of the ball park. Total cost was $230. Thinking this was high, I called NTB and Firestone to get a quote. NTB was $130 and Firestone was $120 for a top of the line, 3 year warranty battery - out the door. Call around before going to see him. Unfortunately, my daughter didn't insist on a price quote first - paid it and left. Never again.

I have taken my car there several times and have come to be very disappointed in the service. My routine check ups have ended up with significant problems and I have had issues with some of the work--as in it leads to more problems. I will be looking for another mechanic.
