Provided by YP.comThe office manager and the front office staff are very rude, unprofessional, and unethical. This is a very undesirable practice because of this. There is always some time of insurance claim issue with this office and they always are incorrect. I was treated so poorly on my last visit to this office I will"NEVER" step foot in there again. That's a promise!

Provided by YP.comVery disappointed in Dr. Black's assistant and staff! Echoing what Wes S said below. I called 3 weeks ago to setup an appointment due to my blood pressure being high. I was told to leave a message with Dr. Black's assistant which I did. Despite her voice mail greeting asking not to leave multiple messages, I left a second message a week later. Finally, after receiving no calls, I called the receptionist again and told her my experience. She said the office would call back the following week. After again no return call I called again and finally was able to reach Dr. Black's assistant who said that since it had been so long since I had come in as a patient I was now considered 'new' and Dr. Black no longer sees new patients.
Dr. Black's position regarding not seeing new patients is perfectly fine - I can go somewhere else. My issue is that it should not take almost a month and repeated phone calls to finally relay that information.
Your health is too important-if your Dr. is unresponsive pick another.

Provided by YP.comHi this is Dr. Clifford (board certified in Family Medicine and trained at Mayo Clinic and Alabama) from Trinity Medical Clinic in Chelsea 678-7779. Just wanted to let Dr. Brewer's patients know that I am happy to see them while he is temporarily out of the office.

Provided by YP.comI have CVS Caremark Rx by mail. Rarely do Dr. Black's nurses respond to requests until after about the 3rd attempt or if I call them myself. I have auto refill, so I am not checking up on the status of my Rx's since they are automatically refilled every 90 days for the year, but after not receiving my Rx, I decided to check the status only to find out that Inverness Family Medicine had not responded to CVS's calls so it never got filled.

Provided by YPmobileAfter several years of poor reviews and my own experiences with Rebecca-Rude at the reception desk, it shocks me that she still works there. Can't imagine how tiresome it is to work with the infirm everyday, but if you are not able to do it with a smile and helpful attitude, then time to go!

Provided by YP.comThe doctors are awesome. But don't go here, especially if you have high blood pressure. The office staff is the WORST EVER. They won't call you back and ALWAYS act like you're always inconveniencing them (I just want to schedule a followup). Like an office full of gradeschoolers.

Provided by YP.comI have been a patient of Dr. Chris Black for most of my adult life. I've always found him to be wonderful, attentive, caring, skilled... everything you could ever want in a personal physician. I would trust Dr. Black with my life. HOWEVER... earlier this year, I began having a health issue one evening after office hours. This is the only time I have ever felt bad enough to call any after-hours service, but I wasn't sure what else to do. I wasn't sure if I should seek treatment at the ER, or if there was something I could do at home to hold me over until the next day. I received a call back a few minutes later from Dr. Charles Lichty from Inverness Family Medicine, and I must say, I have never been treated so rudely by a physician in my life. The call lasted less than three minutes, and during that time, Dr. Lichty was abrupt, condescending, accusatory, interrupted me as I was trying to explain the situation, and, at one point, he even raised his voice at me! By the time I got off the phone with Dr. Lichty (less than 3 minutes later), I was practically in tears. What kind of physician treats a sick, worried patient this way?

Provided by YP.comThis is the most unprofessional doctor's office I have ever visited. When I first arrived, I heard the front desk staff laughing and gossiping loudly about some patients that they encountered earlier that day. Everyone in the waiting room could hear their conversation, they weren't trying to be descrete. Afterward, I went to the back for the LPN to take my vital signs. She asked me some personal questions about a procedure that I was scheduled to have and I answered them, not thinking twice about it. As soon as she left out of the room, I heard her whispering and laughing to another co-worker about my situation. When I left out of the doctor's offiice to get blood drawn, I noticed that quite a few of the staff members were going out of their way to look at me and they would go back and whisper and laugh. This made me feel so uncomfortable because it was so obvious that they were talking about me and looking at me to figure out "who this person was that was having this "humerous" procedure done." I felt so uncomfortable that I had to let the doctor know what I had experienced. He guaranteed me that he would get to the bottom of the situation and that the LPN would be "dealt with". Please don't go to this doctor's office unless you want to see staff huddled around and gossiping the entire time as if there is no work that needs to be done. The doctor was very friendly and understanding but it's very unfortunate that he chose staff members who are very nasty and uses no discretion while discussing patients. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO INVERNESS FAMILY MEDICINE AGAIN!!!!
