Mervyn H. Sterne Library is one of the oldest public libraries in Birmingham, Ala. The library offers more than 200,000 items that include books, periodicals, audiotapes, videocassettes and software products. It serves over 45,000 residents of its community. Mervyn H. Sterne Library provides buying guides, consumer pamphlets, and reports on charitable and nonprofit organizations. It has a consumer information center that provides full text of the government consumer pamphlets and access to several federal agencies and consumer sites. In addition, Mervyn H. Sterne Library offers various programs for teenagers.
