I was recently diagnosed with Chiari I Malformation. I was referred to Dr. Wilson for possible surgery. He acted very rushed upon entering the room. He asked me my symptoms. I had a list of things that had been happening to me over the past two years. I only read off 5-6 of my symptoms when he interrupted me. He proceeded to tell me that my symptoms were not real, and I should see a psychiatrist. This man who said my symptoms were not valid was still more than willing to cut my head open and perform very risky brain surgery on me. It seems he didn't believe me, but wanted to make money from performing surgery on my brain. It was very clear that he didn't know much about my disorder. A Mri doesn't lie. I have Chiari. He would not listen to questions we had for him as well. When asked "how does he know this wasn't brought on by head trauma?" He responds "that is just something I know" with condescension in his voice and a snarky grin on his face. After he left the room, I broke down and started crying. I have never felt so belittled by a doctor in my entire life. To all Chiari patients, avoid this man like the plague. I hear he is a somewhat decent back surgeon, but his bedside manner was non existent. There is no reason to treat another human being the way this man treated me. I hope this review saves some patients some time.
