Erick Schat's Bakkery
763 N Main St, Bishop, CA 93514
Erick Schat s Bakkery is a European-style bakery based in Bishop, Calif. The bakery is famous for it s the Original Sheepherder Bread 1938. Immigrant Basque sheepherders introduced the Original Sheepherder Bread 1938 during the California Gold Rush. Today Erick Schat s Bakkery still shapes the loaves by hand and bakes the bread in European stone hearth ovens. Products at Erick Schat s Bakkery are made using pure ingredients that include well water from the Sierra Mountains and stone-ground unbleached flour. Pastries are made using real butter, grade AA eggs, unbleached flour, cane sugar and artesian well water. The bakery goes to the growers to inspect and purchase its almonds, almond paste, pecans and walnuts. Products include mule bread, oat bran bread, beer bread, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, pound cake and pullaways.

Provided by YP.comThe chilicheese breads have taken a BIG hit in both cheese and chilis. We would have preferred to pay more
rather to take the cut in quality. We know the price of cheese has skyrocketed, but chilis also?
Our local Stater Bros makes a better loaf now.
