Do NOT live at The Village. I have lived here for the past 2 years and regret re-signing my lease for this year. I have had so many problems with the management staff. The staff does not cooperate with you to meet your needs. They care more about their money than your health and well-being. There has been constant construction outside of my apartment building which has been going on now for 5 months. I'm not sure by the time I graduate the construction will be finished. I wake up to the sound of beeping and booming every morning starting at 7AM. Nothing was sent out to warn the residents of the construction and I was not compensated. They put a fence up around the construction blocking parking and tightening the entrance-way to my complex. The fence has no warning sign that the area around it is tight and I have nearly been hit multiple times leaving my apartment. I inquired about the construction and compensation, but The Village did nothing about it. My water smells strange, but the Village doesn't seem concerned about it. Whenever you have a problem I assure you, The Village will make you take it into your own hands and will not help you. If you are parents reading this, please do not let your child live at this place. They will not take care of your children's needs. Also, the insulation is terrible. Our electric bill is high because the windows leak in a ton of cold air and we have to keep our heat set high. The walls are very thin as well and you can hear your neighbors above and below you.

THE VILLAGE OF BLACKSBURG IS TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE, our stairs have collapsed... twice. When I originally walked into my apartment there was hair in the bathtub, and food still on the counter tops from over a year ago. Its disgusting, and way over priced. When i complained to management they responded, its student housing what do you expect.
