Founded in 1965, the Jefferson Davis Academy is an educational college preparatory school. Its educational program includes classes in language arts, English, social studies, science, physical education, math and spelling. The academy operates upper and lower schools, as well as offers educational opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade 12. The Jefferson Davis Academy also offers classes in foreign language and computers. It provides a variety of athletic activities that include baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, softball and cheerleading. Additionally, the academy offers a lunch menu that includes steak sandwiches, cheeseburgers, rice, corn nuggets and french fries. The Jefferson Davis Academy is accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association. Located in Blackville, S.C., it provides nursing and medication services.
