I was subjected to this man by hospital consultation for severe back and lower extremity pain, loss of sensation in the "saddle area" and inability to walk. While the ER doc showed my husband what he thought was an area of significant stenosis on my CT, Dr. Croissant apparently disagreed. Actually, he said that there was nothing on my x - rays & CT that indicated that I should be having any pain. Then he intimated that I was there seeking drugs. In front of a room full of witnesses. He did nothing beyond looking at lower extremity reflexes and some muscle strength testing. Didn't even get me out of bed to assess my gait or check for reflexes that would be affected by saddle anesthesia. Then, he walked out of my room without a thought, while I lay in bed with Cauda equina syndrome, a surgical emergency. I still can't walk normally because of severe
muscle loss and partial paralysis in a foot, one year later. I don't know how long I'll need to be treated for the pain.
