Stars and Stripes, the newspaper for men and women in the U.S. military, started here with the publication of the first edition, November 9, 1861. The museum focuses on the people who have produced this legendary publication over the years. More than 7,000 square-feet of exhibits on the Civil War, World Wars I & II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Kosovo & Bosnia and other conflicts. Additionally, the facility serves historians, students, writers, and the general public. The facility has climate-controlled storage, handicapped accessibility, meeting rooms and research archives.
