Bay School, founded by Jan Emlen in 1980, offers educational and extracurricular programs for children from grades kindergarten through eight. The school enrolls more than 100 students annually. Its kindergarten offers a three-day, five-day and combined programs for 4, 5 and 6-year olds and an optional afternoon Kindercare program from Monday through Friday. Kindergarten activities at the school include eurythmy, beeswax modeling, painting with watercolors, handwork crafts and music. The school offers mathematics, English, science, history, geography, economics and foreign languages for grades four and five. Located in Blue Hill, Maine, Bay School also offers a wide variety of sports, such as girl s and boy s basketball, cheerleading, baseball, tennis, badminton, swimming, soccer and softball.
