Having experienced some of the best Cuban food in Florida I must admit my expectations were high when we visited this quaint and vibrantly colored market and eatery for lunch when passing through on our way home.
My wife and I both ordered a Cuban sandwich. Very disappointed as the pork tasted like it was either old or had been refrigerated too long and the bread lacked that crunchy crust of "fresh baked Cuban bread" as advertised.
I ordered a side of black beans and rice expecting yellow rice instead of the white rice served. As for taste, simply salty. My wife settled for a bag of chips.
Before leaving we decided to give their pastries a try since they looked so good. Again, disappointed as they were bland, stale and lacking much filling.
As for the service, the young lady that took our order (at the counter) and served us was very polite and friendly. We were the only customers at the time so service was prompt.
We don't expect to return there if they can't even put together a tasty Cuban sandwich.
