If you plan to sell anything here, you might was well give it away to someone willing to pick it up rather than spend time hauling it to this place to give away. The "buyers" come here to get junk for a dollar or two and the sellers are quickly learning that to use this auction is to give their items away as junk. Seller BEWARE!

This place is great .I read the other reviews and I would assume that the bad review is someone who probably owns another auction site because I have dealt with Dixie design for years and never had one problem that they didn't fix. I have bought one item that didn't work and they refunded my money no questions asked. Buy to me the owner isn't the dishonest person it would be the seller . People bring in items and state they work and in great shape . They can't check every item someone brings. I have a business and this Burns my bottom that someone would write such a decietful review. Keep up the great work and I look forward to doing many years of business with you

The Dixie Design Auction was a great experience for me. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I was in a room full of strangers having a wonderful time. I am most impressed by the owners, Mark and Karen Roberts. They collaborate so well on running their business. I was amazed by the variety of top quality items. There were so many beautiful pieces bidding at affordable prices.The Auction also has delicious food, so bring your appetite!

The owner has gotten greedy and has also hired in new people who are dishonest and run the bids up on the bidders. I have caught them red handed doing this. They act like there is someone bidding against you in the back of the room but there is no one bidding. They do it to get you to increase your bid. You can see the evidence for yourself the next auction night when the items the "imaginary bidder" won are still sitting there. They try to get you to keep bidding and if you refuse they get stuck with it & have to try to sell it a different night. So you will see the same item the "imaginary bidder" won come back up for sale another night. They also plant people in the audience to run the bids up as well.

They often sell items as "new in the box" that are broken or don't work that are store returns. They buy huge pallets of store returns wholesale, then run it through the auction. These items usually have some defect, that is why the store itself did not re-sell it when it was returned. So it is in the original box and appears new, when in fact it is a defective item that has been returned to a store. So you will buy an item thinking it is new only to get it home and see it is broken or does not work. Even the furniture pieces they sometimes run through are often held together with glue or a few nails to hold it together just long enough to sell it to you. Once you get it home and try to use it the stuff falls apart. At one time this was a great place to go, but greed and dishonesty have ruined it now. I have taken my business elsewhere, and know a lot of others that have as well. Don't waste your time going to this auction, you cannot get anything here without the people running the place jacking the bid up on you, or selling you crappy merchandise.The sad thing is most people going there don't even realize it is happening until they have already bought the items. But once word of mouth spreads, this place will loose a lot of business due to their own greed. You cannot run any business by selling broken items, glued together junk, or by trying to get more money for items by being dishonest.
