I brought in a 30 year old wedding ban that was my mother's. The ring definitely showed signs of age and a small portion broke. The ring also spun and I was debating resizing it. The owner took a look at the ring and the after talking the situation with me we decided to weld the old ring to the engagement ring my husband had custom made to match. That solved both problems and protected the weak side of the ring from more damage. When I was told that the dark areas of my mother's ring would basically be cleaned out when the welding occurred, I told him I liked the dark spots that showed it's age. Then he offered to do what TWO OTHER JEWELERS said couldn't be done. He darkened the same areas of the new ring to match. All of this for an unbelievably reasonable price. My ring came out better than I could have expected.
