I have driven by the shop several times just wanted let you guys know that new paint job is looking good. Will see you Saturday for an oil change and friendly smiles.

They have friendly workers and the work areas are clean and well maintained.

They are extremely courteous and friendly because they are seasoned con artists. New to the area, I was bringing my Suburban down, because it had a rough second gear. Oddly enough, my wife following me in the Hyundai and it broke down right in front of the shop. They kindly helped me push it into the driveway. Just to be safe, I played stupid about cars even though I know quite a bit. This was to see if they were an honest shop. When he checked my transmission dip stick, he told me that because it wasn't bright red, that it was darker, and that I had to have a blown transmission and it needed to be replaced. Little did he know, the transmission had recently been replaced and I just wanted to know why it was shifting hard into a particular gear? We popped the hood on the Hyundai, it was obvious what the problem was. I could see that the serpentine belt snapped because the air conditioning pulley seized. I got outrageous verbal quotes for what they thought it would cost to change the transmission and the air conditioning. (Which he said could not be bypassed to get the car running.) I obviously left but had to leave my car behind. Knowing they were a scam, I came back after hours. I put on a new belt bypassing the air pulley and drove home. I never had another problem with it. The next business day, I came back to get my key and I got my key in my hand while she was explaining the bill and she tried to charge me for the mechanic looking under the hood for all of 30 seconds. When I advised her of how I fixed my car, which he said wasn't possible, the mechanic just nervously smiled and shrugged his shoulders. She stated that they had still spent time looking at the car. I told them that "You guys are a scam" and she replied, "Sorry you feel that way." I laughed and then I left. I changed my transmission filter and fluid on my truck, and my transmission was fine and has been for over 3 years. Also, take a look at some of the rave reviews and where they come from, these people are in Chicago and California, isn't that a bit far to go to get your car worked on, think about it.

The reason I'm posting 3 years later is because I came upon a YouTube video they have, advertising their shop. It had the same office lady and mechanics that I dealt with 3 years ago so obviously nothing has changed. People work too hard for their money to be robbed by dishonest businesses.

I've had a great experience here in downtown Boise,were 27th st automotive auto repair shop is located,i recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome service of experience.They had my car in and out in one day. They were very nice and communicative about any problems with the car and seemed genuinely interested in helping us in sorting things out with our dealership.

The best Auto Repair in Town! I went to 2 other shops in Boise, after paying around $9000 to fix my VW, I still walked away with no solution. My problem never went away so I finally went to 27th St Automotive. They charged me $157 to fix my car. You guys are the BEST!!! : )

I was told that I needed both of my car axles replaced, but, after 27th St Auto inspected my car ,they told me that only one of my axles was bad. That saved over $150. I will definitely go back in the future."‎ ‎
