It is difficult for a person who has to find a new home to place their aging parent, not to mention doing it for the first time. Ashley Manor made me feel like they were willing to work with me in placing my parent in one of their homes. At the same time my aged parent was prescribed a straight catheter by her urologist. I made Ashley Manor aware of this and was never told by Ashley Manor my aged parent would not be accepted. As I worked on getting her admitted, when it came down to actually having her move in, Ashley Manor denied her admittance. The reason was because of the straight catheter prescribed by her urologist. If they would have told me from the very beginning they would not accept her, they would have saved me a lot of time and emotional stress, but they led me to believe I could place my aged parent in their assisted living home, then at the very last minute denied my aged parents admittance.



Another item I learned hind sight was that by Idaho law there is no partiality toward private or medicaid rooms in assisted or nursing homes. By Idaho law all rooms should be kept up expressing the dignity of the resident. Ashley's medicaid rooms were not very inviting. The rugs especially were dirty in the medicaid rooms while the priviate rooms were kept more comfy and clean.
