The Central District Health Department is a public agency that provides a range of health care programs and related services throughout the state of Idaho. It provides health-related information on various communicable diseases, such as amebiasis, avian influenza, chickenpox, giardia, Hantavirus, malaria, measles, meningitis, leprosy, tuberculosis, hepatitis C, listeriosis, mumps and polio. The department additionally offers basic information on sexually transmitted diseases, including Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, and HIV and AIDS. It provides blood pressure checking, case management, cholesterol screening, immunization, crisis intervention and food inspection services.
