Provided by YP.comThese guys are my go to fish store. They are very helpful and very knowledgeable in the subject and they are extremely personable as well. They helped me switch my tank from freshwater to saltwater and they were there every step of the way!

Provided by YPmobileI am hoping people will read this because I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I have when I purchased fish from this store. The two younger gentleman were so sweet, super friendly and very kind. I spent 43$ on fish and was so excited about the variety. the very next day I had white spots all over my fish, Ich. Every fish from that store has died except the two I took back the next day, and the two I took back... He threw in a tank of which he sells fish from, so no kidding his fish spread ich and die. I started ich treatment right away and still lost my fish, including some of my older fish I've had for years. The older man I'm going to assume is the owner or manager was very rude. He wouldn't even refund my fish I brought back because they were alive....
I was told if it's within 7 days you get a full refund. So as the rest started dieing off I didn't even attempt to try for a refund, I knew it would be pointless. So after spending 43$ on fish I lost, not including the 40$ on treatment for Ich, also the live plants I had to pull from the tanks to keep ich away....
What a awful experience this has been, this is no way to run a business. word of mouth is very powerful, I wasn't surprised to hear a very similar story from a co-worker who happened to go through the same ordeal at this very store. Poor fish

Provided by YPmobilePeople that leave a bad review and then go to petco or petsmart and buy 100 dollars worth of fish all at once... I would never listen too. And hey moron it doesn't matter if its a down economy they sell fish aka living creatures I would tell you to screw off too lol

Provided by YP.comToday I visited this store and was impressed by the beauty I stepped into. Just walking around and browsing the store I could tell that they cared for and had knowledge of aquariums and fish. Recently I started a 10 gallon tank with live plants and have been struggling with getting it straight. I spoke with a gentleman for about 20 min on what it takes to deal with live plants. In that 20 min I felt I had more knowledge than ever before. This gentleman did not rush me and I felt he took pleasure in teaching people about aquariums. I really enjoyed my experience and can not wait to return to the store.

The minute I walked into the store with my two children, I had an older lady, who claims to be the owner, yell at my youngest to not touch the fish tanks and proceeded to tell me "I guess now I need to put up a sign to tell parents to control their children!" Then I waited for over 10 minutes w/o any help from the 3 employees in the store (there were no other customers). When I called to complain the same lady answered the phone and told me I needed to learn how to control my children! I couldn't believe this and not having done anything wrong, my child was excited to see the fish but did not touch or break anything, I should not have been treated this way and hope other customers are not talked to in this fashion either. No wonder no one ever goes in that store! Sad thing is I would have rather have shopped at a local business, but ended up at PetSmart where I received excellent service from a gentleman named Vic!

Great selection of fresh and saltwater aquarium fish and supplies. Knowledgable staff; if one person doesn't know, someone else will (I have never been in the store when the owner has not been there). Best stock of saltwater fish and supplies around and if they don't have it, they will order it for you. And, if supporting your local businesses isn't enough reason to shop there, I price checked a skimmer at the big online retailers and FA&S was $50 cheaper! The other Boise store that sells saltwater fish had a TON of aptasia on their rock, most of their fish had ick and a few were almost dead in the tanks. Want that in your tank? I sure don't!

Provided by YP.comI went here a few days ago and had a much better experience then I didn't at Boise's Freshwater Aquariums. And they had better prices this place would be 5 stars if they had a nicer tank setup for freshwater.Another thing that makes this place better is they have saltwater.

Great selection of both Saltwater and Freshwater fish, as well as supplies. Bill the owner ha great knowledge he is willing to share. They are a little higher priced than many of the other stores, but you are getting better service from someone who actually knows what he is talking about, as well as a better selection.

Provided by YP.comThe ppl that run this store have horrid customer service skills. I was looking to buy some tropical fish for my aquarium and the older gal thats in charge tried to run me out of the store by telling me " whatever fish you pick are just going to die anyway" it seems she doesn't want to make money in this hard times. I would think they would be desperate for business after just opening anew. So I instead went to the local petco and got fantastic customer service and bought about 100 dollars worth of fish. It's been about 3 months now and the fish are thriving and not one death. Thank you to the horrid service at the fish aquariums and stuff, for reminding me it's not always smart to buy local.
