Myofascial Release is used to address the fascia (connective tissue) tightness throughout the entire body. Fascia is the largest system in the body and the least recognized by our western medical community. Fascia is able to with stand pressures up to 2000 punds per square inch. All of the cells in our bodies must pass through the web space of this incredible tissue. When there is inflammation, scar tissue, or injury to fascia the cells passing through the web space have increased pressure applied resulting in tightness, decreased range of motion and decreased mobility. MFR is a slow sustained stretch deep in the tissues allowing the structures to release and decrease pressures applied on the nerves, cells and muscles of the body resulting in improved motion, mobility and decreased pain.
