Cold Shoulder

My daughter and I have been looking for a church for sometime. We have just moved to the Bolivar area and this church is not far from our home, We decided this weekend we would give them a try, the kids had gone to Wednesday night services and so we thought since they seemed to enjoy it we would go.

Much to my and my daughters dismay. We were very welcomed to this congregation. We walked in the door, no one came up to say Hi, welcome, just stared at us. Then when it came time to go in for services, we went to a pew, the only persons that spoke at that time was a gentleman, and the visiting minister.

When it came time to say welcome to each other, it was like a forced hello, but still no welcome, who are you or where are you from. They all seemed to have their own little areas and don't you dare infringe. Then when church was over, it was time to gather the children, since we had not been there, we had no clue where to go, we stood in the hall way till we saw parents headed to get their children, still no hellos, welcome, can we help you, just stares and glares. We go to get our children, and one lady finally introduces herself to my daughter, I might as well as been a ghost, We go to get kids and still no welcome, glad to see you, nothing.

I am not usually a really hard critic on churches but this was one of the worst. I did not feel welcome and I will not be visiting again. Now I have been to some churches and if you new, they don't talk much, but never gotten the cold shoulder as I had here.
