Jackie, aka Mountain Mamma, has spent the last 30 years in the forefront of animal rescue. She is active in supporting laws and ordinances that benefit our pets, volunteers in the capacity of teacher for humane education, and is actively involved with the rescue and fostering of homeless animals, as well as adoption counseling and giving her time as board member for rescue organizations. It is “always about the animals” with Jackie. “Mountain Mamma”, as she humorously refers to herself, is trained in Red Cross pet First Aid/CPR and is a graduate of the American Humane Red Star disaster preparedness course. The local ‘bow-wow and meow” says this is the place to stay. This “home away from home” for local pets is attached to Jackie’s own home. The guests have someone on premises 24/7. You can be assured your pets will receive the same royal treatment that her seven furry friends enjoy. Many occasions occur in the lifetime you have with your pets that require substitute guardianship for your beloved “kids” with fur and feathers. Perhaps you work long hours and can’t be home for the timely feed or walk, or to administer medicine. In many situations a family is taking a vacation that cannot accommodate Fido or Kitty, or work may require that you must relocate for several weeks. The energy level of your pet requires more than you have time for....all are reasons to seek alternative, safe and loving care options. Furry guests also include feathered friends and small mammals such as ferrets, guinea pigs and domesticated pot belly pigs. All our pets receive the same amenities and love. Mountain Mamma also welcomes those pets vacationing in the High Country with their families.
