I am from California and have been completely disappointed with the "Mexican food" that is available in this area (and all that I have experienced in North Carolina) for the past 11 years. I helped stack homemade tortillas at 5 am at a tortilleria my friends dad owned. I KNOW great mexican food, to say the least. I have turned to nouveau Mexican fusion because at least that's done correctly.



Taqueria El Paso is the real deal! From Chili Rellianos to their Gorditas I am totally impressed. (I do not care for their burritos) Unfortunately I have noticed a decline in their guacamole, which I feel its due to the high cost on great guac- and why not water it down with sour cream like ALL of the other restaurants in this area do! It's widely accepted.



In closing, please support the great product this place is providing our community by experiencing it yourself. And, they have an amazing Mexican Grocery next to Los Arcos in Boone. $1 for ripe avocados, which is just a tip of the iceberg.
