A well-run apartment complex with local owners. What you'll get is a well-sized apartment with amenities like a pool and tennis courts, friendly and caring management and a hilltop view of Boones Mill that is stunning at any time of the year. What you won't get is bad neighbors - if you are loud, rude or cause trouble this apartment complex isn't for you. All the residents are kind and friendly, a very nice community. 5 stars!

Wow. After reading the last review, my mind is blown. It's as if they used the same template to evict my fiancee and I. We were lied to by management from the beginning. They said our apartment never flooded after we complained about a horrible moldy smell and we found out later from multiple tenants that it certainly did flood before we moved in. We complained about cockroach infestations, leaky ceilings, and 1970s appliances, among many other issues, and they reluctantly "fixed" SOME of our problems after calling and visiting the rude and careless office staff countless times. Once we realized how defensive management was about our problems rather than trying to be proactive and fixing them, we knew we were on their blacklist. The place was disgusting when we moved in 7 months ago and they expect us to clean before we move out or we will not receive our deposit back. We paid rent 4 to 5 months in advance and apparently that wasn't good enough for them. We were evicted over a parking space dispute when my fiance thought he was parking in a space that was rightfully his, got cursed by the "owner" of the space (who lives alone and claimed she needed 2 extra spaces for her visitors) and he cursed back as any self respecting person would do. She tattled to the office, the owner came to ME about the issue rather than my fiance and we get an eviction notice a week later after ONE verbal warning and not making the effort to even care to hear our side of the story. The notice states "We know you're not happy here so we feel it's time to move." You think???? After the deplorable and unsanitary conditions we've had to suffer and rude, lazy, and inadequate maintenance and office staff, yea, I'd say it's best for us to move on. Every time maintenance came into my apartment, they broke my personal belongings and left a mess for me to clean up. I mean, the office doesn't even have an answering machine, lawns get mowed MAYBE once a month, and even common areas are poorly maintained. A lesson to ANYONE thinking about moving to Heatherwood Apartments: do not let the owner guile you into thinking you will be happy there as he did to us. Unless you enjoy cockroaches, outdated appliances, ignorant maintenance men, managers, and office staff, and breathing mold that's been growing for who knows how long, I would advise you think twice before signing that lease. In hindsight, I certainly wish we had. As for the manager assaulting the husband of the woman in the previous review, I have no problem believing it, especially when it comes to those delusional "landlords".
