Provided by YP.comit's because the cops let things like "backwards caps" go that we now see the ridiculous things i'm about to speak of. give people an inch and they will take a mile.
within 5 minutes of being at this dump i saw about 10 pair of underwear. 75% of the people there had sagging pants, one guy had his hands down his pants, teenagers were feeling each other up in the arcade. if i was by myself i might have felt safe but with a wife and child with me, i did not feel safe. i found myself steadily looking behind us to make sure we were not going to get mugged. for SOME reason i thought that there was suppose to be people patrolling the boardwalk to keep things like this from happening. i even recall there being a rule at one time that you could not even have on a backwards baseball cap. NOW me, my wife, and son can not walk without seeing the underwear of every teenage boy and grown man there. we will never go back and no wonder this place can not make any money. the people that would actually spend money there, rather than just walk around loitering like most people there, do not go. they go to decent places.

Subject: Incident at the Louisiana Boardwalk 540 Boardwalk Boulevard Bossier City, LA
Hello,
My name is Linda from Dallas TX area. For the past few years my family and I have traveled to Bossier City LA for our family gatherings, some coming from Mississippi. We are a family of 7, ages range from 70 to 21. The Boardwalk has been a favorite shopping place until March 6 2011.
On March 6 2011, my family and I arrived at the Boardwalk by 11:00; we visited
several shops, Gap, Fossil, Farmer Almanac, we had lunch at Fuddruckers, ice cream at Stone Cold, candy at the Chocolate Crocodile, purchased shoes from a street vender, and visited several shops, spending hundreds of dollars. It was fun shopping.
While shopping, I had noticed a security guard that seemed odd, odd enough for me to take note of him. But I dismissed it from my mind as I continued my day with my family.
As my family and I were walking back from the Bass Pro Shop area, the same security guard I had noticed earlier walks pass me and my oldest son, Jason. The security guard is glaring at Jason, to the point Jason stops walking and says “Hi”. I also turn to watch the security guard as he walked pass without saying anything. I continued to watch the security guard as he walks pass my mother and husband, then he walked up to my youngest son, Alton. Alton is the reason we were he shopping, it was his 21st birthday.
We had several bags each from our shopping, obvious of a family shopping spree. Alton was wearing a Texas Rangers baseball cap, and he was wearing it backwards. Anyway, the security guard walks up and stops Alton, saying “you have to wear your hat properly here, TURN IT AROUND.” Alton fussing walks up to me, as he is turning his hat around. I ask,” What did he just say?” Even though I did hear him, I was thinking surely I must have missed something. As we were walking, trying to decided which store we were going to go into next, Alton is fiddling with his hat, “mom, I hate it this way” as he was moving it from side to side, I tell him just not to wear it at all. The security guard then screams from behind us, “LEAVE THE PROPERTY!!” This made my husband, David upset and he had words with the security guard. I spoke up, saying let’s just all go. We were making our way to our cars; we realized we are being followed by a golf cart with the security guard and now the Bossier P.D.? David stops to talk to the group, to see what exactly the problem is. I walk back to the group to get the car keys and hear the police officer explain, because of gang activity, they monitor attire and the way someone wears their hats. We were clearly not a gang, nor did we have any offensive clothing. We were not informed of the “policies” until being escorted off the property. I looked in the restroom/ elevator area and in the stair area for a posting or warnings. I saw no such postings.
With the economy the way it is Bossier City, like any area, needs the outside business people like us bring. We were not loud, weary anything improper, or misbehaving in anyway. We were the normal American family of 7 obviously shopping. Needless to say, we will never come back to shop. That is a lost to your shops and to your city. I would suggest to train your security guard how to speak to the public and to post clear rules and policies. If the security guard had been polite and explained why and the policies, we could have avoid the whole incident.
I write only because if this had happened at my business, I would have wanted to know and followed up on it.
Thank you for your time,
Linda ~Dallas TX
