The Haemonetics MCS+ system addresses the traditional drawbacks of platelet therapy because it automates the platelet collection process, permitting the collection of greater quantities of platelets from a single donor. The company s PCS2 system is for the collection of plasma. It has two main systems for the needs of surgical blood salvage, the Cell Saver system and the OrthoPAT system. Haemonetics responded to the need for emergency blood reserves by developing the ACP 215 automated cell processing system. Haemonetics is headquartered in Braintree, Mass.
