There's a parking lot in Brookline / Allston MA that appears to be shared by a Dunkin Donuts and a CVS. If you park after Dunkin Donuts closes but CVS is still open ('til midnight), Roberts Towing has cameras monitoring the area and will immediately swoop out and tow your car in under 5 minutes...

Upon close scrutiny of the parking lot, you find there's a small sign on the bottom of the fence saying 'this is a Dunkin Donuts parking lot & cars may be towed after hours'...

It's a sort of scam they have going

You return to find your car missing, no calling card, no idea who took it. Once you figure it out by hook or crook, you have to travel to their lot, where they insist you pay $200 in *cash* to retrieve it. Every hour it sits there, another $30 is tacked onto the fee...

They *might* damage your car while towing (happens sometimes apparently)... They might refuse to give you change... Might refuse to give you a receipt... Might be hostile, angry, verbally abusive, borderline violent...

This long-running towing company is notorious for predatory practices and intense assholery, and apparently pays off certain government officials and even police to continue with impunity... They also use several aliases, such as 'Frank's Moving,' to throw people off their trail...

The address of this specific parking lot is 210 / 214 Harvard Ave. But they do this sort of deviltry all around Brookline & the Boston area -- watch out

Incredibly unprofessional! We ended up filing a police report because the man who came to tow our car was aggressive and threatening (we are two girls in our 20s). He returned to our address after already leaving when he found out we had called the company to complain. He also took a creepy and extremely unnecessary picture of my sister. Can not believe this company is still in business. I am just glad we have a formal police report on file. Scary situation!

Their truck driver back into my car creating a fair amount of damage. The pleaded ignorance. Very fitting.
