First, and most likely, only visit, ordered chicken marinara sandwich, with no breading. (weird, but ok) was going add chips and drink, until I heard 12 something uttered from the cashier/manager. I opted just for the $9.21 sandwich. I asked to have black olives put on the sandwich, assuming that a menial topping, as such, would be added, no problem. Wrong!! "That's extra, we're not Subway" I passed, eagerly awaiting to lay my eyes upon this $10 sub without 5 cents worth of black olives that would NOT be on it. (6-8 inches, not 12") When it arrives, it has the thinnest 2 pieces of chicken I've ever seen, no more than 1/4" at the thickest point, down to less than 1/8". The bread was stained with marinara, that's it. The manager was right when she said "We're not Subway". At Subway the chicken is easily 5/8" thick, and uniformly so, throughout both pieces, as much marinara as you want, and as many additional toppings as you wish included in the price of, oh, say $6 tops for the equivalent length. In my moment of dissatisfaction, I walked up to a line cook and asked for some marinara and black olives, they kindly obliged while the Sub Nazi wasn't looking. I was pressed for time and hungry so I ate it. Roughly half way through the meal, the manager/cashier was walking the floor, so I asked to speak with her. I brought my disappointment in the quality of the sandwich to her and the first thing she says is, "I can count on my hand the number of complaints I've had in 5 years". So what? Am I supposed to feel alienated b/c I'm dissatisfied? I don't care if I'm the first or 500th. Address the customer, understand the problem, and fix it. MANAGEMENT 101. After her unengaged, disinterested demeanor and response, that resembled a woman that overheard me say she had an ugly baby, she offered to make me a "half sandwich" of my choice. I elected to have the exact same sandwich made, this time I made the ridiculous....crazy request to have it assembled and fashioned to match the picture that depicts the one that's plastered, largely, on the wall, that if made as such, might......might be worth $10 b/c it's "Boulder" Subs. In the pic, the sandwich has a 1-1.5" gap, loaded with a thick piece of chicken, tons of sauce and cheese. The "remake" was wrapped in a piece of paper. I have no idea what's in there, "Jake" will know in the morning. With all the choices in Boulder, there are numerous places where your taste buds will not be deprived any less, and at 60%-70% the cost. I will proactively tell people about the poor value of this establishment and will definitely let people know that they are certainly not "Subway" :)
