Provided by YP.comI cannot caution you enough from taking your beloved shoes to this horrible shop. Before I even left my shoes there, another customer was picking up a pair of boots that she had left for repair. They were knee-high leather boots, that had some repairs to the shaft done. While checking their work, she noticed that she could not zip one of her boots. She tried gently sliding it down and back up, then tugging more forcefully. Still, she could not zip it whatsoever. When she questioned them about the completely unwearable boot, they claimed it "would loosen up with wear" and encouraged her to take the damaged boot home. I should have known better then and there, but I left my pair of Fluevogs to have the heel liner repaired.
Not only does it now look horrible and fits differently, but they lifted the sole out and did not glue it back down, rather they left it hanging there, bent and flopping inside the shoe. When I noticed that, I asked the gentleman to glue it for me. He admonished me and told me that it was not necessary, but he "supposed" he'd do it, then splotched some glue on and handed it back to me immediately. When I got home, I put on the boots, only to feel a sharp object poking against the ball of my foot. Turns out, a rusty tack was left inside under the sole. When I called them about the repair and offered to send pictures of the tack sticking out, they insisted that I drive back and bring the boot to prove it. When I made the trip back in, he accused me of putting the tack there myself. I told him I didn't even want it removed or fixed, I just wanted my money back so that I could take my business elsewhere. After him repeatedly accusing me more of damaging my own $500 pair of boots and risking harm to my own foot, he finally gave me my money back. Tack aside, there was much glue splashed on the inside heel that stained the boot, extraneous glue staining the laces, and the heel liner is not replaced as he said it would be. Instead, he /glued/ an extra piece over the hole and ran a few stitches down the middle, so that the edges do not lay flush and it bunches up the rest of the liner.
Damaging my most loved pair of boots is one thing, but to also be treated so horribly when just asking for my money back is entirely another. I am now taking the same pair of boots to a more reputable cobbler to fix what this one did to them. Please beware.
